Seriously! That car is massive. I'm 5'8" and it it almost as tall as me. The interior looked quite cramped given the massive exterior, the belt line is very high, and the whole car is oddly proportioned. Since when (in modern times) did family sedans get so massive? What happened to riding in cars, not sitting on top of them?

"The interior looked quite cramped given the massive exterior"
That annoys the crap out of me. What is the point of a big car if the interior isn't big? So dumb

when did family sedans get so massive?
like 60+ years ago
They just shrank in the 80's, and have been growing since the 90's.
Also, I think the design of the taurus makes it look big, the body is 202" long whereas my marauder is 212" long.
They are good looking cars though, I like the 10-12 SHO the best. I test drove a 13 nonPP with the tech package and I thought it was fantastic.

Yeah I was just talking about big 4 door sedans. I'm fine with a muscle car having small back seats. Cause you don't buy a muscle car for rear leg room

I knew this argument was going to come up when I wrote the thing. Re-read this sentence "Since when (in modern times) did family sedans get so massive?"

It started in the mid 00's and it'll keep going, is my answer to that

It's not the length that made it look huge. I felt it was extremely tall. Also, you have a marauder? AWESOME!

The horror! At least the Freestyle was an honest and inoffensive looking car.

You are right though, the beltline on the taurus and MKS is indeed high, it makes visibility a bit of a bitch, one of the big shortcomings of that car.
Yeah I got one of them there crown vics on shiny wheels to

Yeah, I've come across one of these that must have been imported. They're ludicrously, pointlessly big.
I can understand a colossal pickup, or SUV, or something else that the size is part of the appeal.
The Taurus is just oversized.

The Freestyle was a chunky wagon. It wasn't dislikable. It was pretty chubby in appearance, but I liked it. The Taurus X....ugh.
